I know I know, why my notice so last minute, but this table fee thing has been going on for so many months already, you all should know by now that the 5th of every month is when we have to pass the table fees to management.

Important notice:

To all pool team members:

The aircon @ SPGG trip again yesterday. The technical who did the servicing confirmed that the recent aircon trips were due to the pool cue cases placed in the switchpanel cabinet in the front portion that knocks the MCCB off. Please be careful as the technical will report this incident to the management & may ban using that switchpanel cabinet.

Hey guys, I'll call Phillip today to tell him the news.

It's official, there won't be any training for the month of October, starting tomorrow. Phillip has agreed, and there will be no coaching fees to be paid for this month.

Training will start again by November; I'l remind you once again when the date draws closer. Despite training being cut-off, I strongly encourage you to come down and train by yourself.

Til' then, enjoy what's left of your holidays, see you soon.

Hey guys, the Halloween event on the 28th of October will be $22 per person. For SPGG Members, I'm not sure about the subsidy though; I'll update you once I get the news. Anyone interested?

By the way, I just want to let you know that only six people attended training on Tuesday. What's the dilly-oh people? Yes, I acknowledge that it's an improvement but we need more than that in order for training to continue.

I want to hear from you, 'cause all of you make the team. Is it because you've got other commitments in work? Maybe because you're travelling? Or perhaps its because you aren't allowed to be out of the house? If these are the reasons, I understand fully, and I've got something to propose.

Would you guys want to put training on hold, and continue once school starts again? How about having training on a specific date, a specific timing? Leave your inputs on my post on Facebook alright.

Come on guys, let's work together to improve... as a team.

Hey! I've got some announcements to make. Hear me out and do acknowledge! Don't worry, they're all good news.

Firstly, the monthly fees of October will be waived. There's no news regarding the date when the Pub moves over. Til' then, we can continue training at Geegee!

Secondly, thanks to the players who won Serangoon Gardens Country Club, GeeGee's Management would want to bring us for a treat. On the 28th of October, there'll be some Halloween Event at Univervsal Studious Singapore. They were wondering how many could and want to attend this. Possibly, it will be free! Do drop a comment of Facebook, or the Tagboard if you're keen on going.

Thirdly, Ash invited us for a chalet on the 22nd of October at Changi. From what I heard, there will be a free flow of drinks. Whether it's alcohol or not, I have nooo idea.

Fourthly, our dear Alvin has bought for us Brunswick Chalk to train with. The chalk is really nice to use, and you will be tempted to keep it in your bag... BUT, it's the Team's property, hence you must return it after use. It won't be pleasant if you were to steal it, just goes to show your character.

Lastly... This isn't good news, but I think I should bring it up. The Pool Hall isn't invincible, please try your best to take care of it! Accidents are bound to happen, but try your best to reduce the chances! I know sometimes, 'your feet itchy', and you feel like kicking that random yellow volleyball. PLEASE, don't ram towards the glass window! It's our responsibility alright(:

If you accidentally broke something, like a glass panel for example. Report it immediately to the front office (where we register our names). If the management happens to find out before you tell them, or worse, you report to them like a week after the incident, it'll just make matters worse for you. Don't be afraid to own up, they'll respect your honesty, and you'll feel much better clearing the air as early as possible, rather than letting it have a snowball effect.

If any of you all got any special reasons as to why you all cannot go down for training, like Douglas or Me, please SMS me or something to let me know.

Azkhairy and I have discussed about this. We are supposed to have fun. how much fun do you think it would be if this situation goes down to the point where training is compulsory, huh?

HEY! I've got some things to say, so hear me out alright!

Firstly, the tournament with Republic Polytechnic is coming up. Are you ready?

It's the final one for us, so let's finish it off with a sweet victory alright. The venue of the tournament would be at Icez Pool, Kovan. Since the tournament would kick off at two.pee.am, we'll meet at GeeGee at twelvethirty. The latest person to reach, kindly donate two.dollars. to SPGG Pool Fund, thanks! :D

In case you all didn't know, we'll be playing 8-Ball on Monday. To the thirteen JunYang and I have selected, play well, play your best! I hope you guys know how important the victory is. Every match counts, it's a team effort alright!

Things that will happen during the 3 months renovation

Quek and I have discussed about the things that will happen during the 3 months when SPGG Pool Hall is closed. Right now, what Philip can give us is: $50 for 4hours for 4 tables per day other than training days (playing days). AND we aim to have 2 PLAYING days. Total costs amount up to $400/month for icez pool to earn. If altogether in the team there are 20 people who goes down to icez, it will be $20 extra for all of you all. This is for the whole team.

So regarding the year 1s now, you all still have to pay $30 regarding the training per month to Philip. The concession rates still applies for Tuesday & Friday for you all. which means, you all have to pay $400 per month for tables for year 1s training. From what Quek and I observed, there are roughly 20 people who attends training altogether for both days, which means you all have to pay extra $20 for table time during training. So all these amounts up to $50 for just training ONLY for year 1s. Obviously you guys want to play extra days as well so judging by the previous paragraph, you guys have to pay a total amount of $70/month.

So in short, you all have to pay table fee during training. So $50/month for training ONLY. If want to go down on other days to play/train, is $70/month.

I know it's very expensive for all of you all, that's why I don't expect a reply by today. but please reply to either Quek, Azkhairy or Jun Yang by tomorrow 7p.m. LATEST. if let's say anyone of you all don't reply, we will take it that you accept any terms and conditions we lay down. AND THIS IS TO EVERYONE OF YOU IN THE TEAM. FROM YEAR 1s TO YEAR 3s. or whether you retain or not, it's still the same because we have to send the reply by tonight and we will try to postpone some info to tell Ann.

1stly the good news is that, september table fees will be WAIVED meaning you don't have to pay, but that does not mean you can abuse the tables and all. Like suka suka bring people from outside the team or your friends, cannot like that arh, if not the management confirm plus chop clamp down us like dogs like that. EVERY SINGLE THING WE DO THEY ARE WATCHING US! So please understand.

2ndly the bad news is that NICK NG's cue is missing, IS A PREDATOR BLACK CUE WITH 4 POINTS. I mean like you all might think knn this one not my problem i involve for what. BUT IF YOU SEE ANYONE USING IT, OR TAKING IT AWAY PLEASE TELL ME! Because is like we have to find back his cue in short. I know whoever who took it won't admit at all, that is why i need evidences.

Hi Guys,

I just went for a meet the members session and managed to get some info out of there.

1stly. Ur pool hall has no intention of closing down. Yes it will be closed temporarily for ur pub to take over. But once the pub has finished renovating it will go back and your pool hall will come back. The vice president said that there is a substantial number of interest in the pool hall and has no intention to do anything to it and it will be maintained.

2ndly. The club is in a renovation phase. Its currently at phase 2 where by ur F&B outlets are getting renovation. The 1st phase was the wellness centre / SPA . So do not be surprised if the pool hall will be renovated in the coming years cuz there are still 3 more phase they wish to do renovation. My guess would be ur sports facilities , the 4th floor rooftop & all the events room.

But here's the main point of me writing this post. Its going to be damn long but please bear with me.

I wish to implement a few stuff from my time back into the system now. Not because I want to, But because management has talked to me just now also and I feel its better this way. No offence to any of those in charge as I did not discuss this with you guys. But trust me for the last time ok?

1stly. I'm gonna gamble 3 years of everybody's hard work from bringing this team to where it is now on Azkhairy, Jun Yang & Alvin. SPGG management needs a permanent captain, vice captain & treasurer for the next 3-4 years. I wish I could fill that post, but you guys know that I have NS.

Being a captain now would mean u are tied down to SPGG for the next 3 years minimum?? If you guys dont think you can commit you are always welcomed to turn it down. Its really a very big burden. How far the team will go is how you guys do things in the next 3 - 4 years.

You guys got until 14th Sept to decide. Come 15th Sept, the change over of every roles will be done in front of the management in a meeting. All ground rules will be decided. BUT not the future plans of the pool team, that's for you guys to decide how you wana go about doing it. I got some plans to share with you guys after the exam.

2ndly. Monthly Pool Fee + Pool Fund. Monthly pool fee will be paid to Alvin. The reason for this change is cause its a problem for finance dept to keep track of individual payment for each of us. Its sort of like going through the whole month's receipt just to figure out wether the XXXX guy / girl got pay up. So to make their life easier, all payment will be made to Alvin. Front desk has the right to refuse payment for monthly pool team fees.

Pool fund will have to come back. Bowling has a Bowling fund from their members. But because of this, they are able to do alot of things easily as its their money and SPGG has no right to interfere in anything they buy for the team.

Likewise the pool fund has to come back. Meaning every month u pay $30 to alvin for non members and $15 for members. But that's when your pool hall comes back. Sept u just pay $10 to him cuz of the chalet & we needa get some chalk for ourselves. The table fee for sept has been waived.

Last time no need pay for friendly cuz we got this pool fund. Chalk everything provided for. Extra set of balls cuz of pool fund. This has to come back, If SPGG does not wish to subsidize us, at least we still have this amount of $$ to help us. If we can be a semi-independently run organisation, SPGG would be more than happy cause they dont have to bother about us. $5 every month. Not alot to ask for right?

3rdly. You guys need to have a monthly meeting among yourself. Submit what you've discussed to the management. Let them be aware of everything you do. EVERYTHING. from the air con spoil to national tournaments to club friendlies. Azkhairy, you are carrying 1/3 of my past burdens. Everything has to fall on you. Can you do this? Can you commit? Think carefully before you answer. I can assure you its a whole different ball game. If you cant then its best the team find someone suitable for this job.

4thly. when you guys go out there for tournaments and friendlies. Do your best! Because our results are actually very good compared to bowling and tennis. If you got results let SPGG know! SHOUT IT OUT! Like the next fission magazine i asked GG to put 4 of us in the top 8 of SPGG 8-ball. National U19 will also be featured.

Its just that we lack that aggressiveness in planning stuff and pushing our ideas through all the way. If we can have support from SPGG, we are really gonna fly far as a pool team. That's something I could only dream of, but the task is for you 3 to make it a reality.

Lastly. AhMoo pls follow up on the player profile and do it thoroughly. Every single SPGG Student Member and Normal Member has to have their profile in SPGG Pool team file with management. Azkhairy And Quek Pls help him.

I would like to say THANK YOU to those that have supported me in the 3 years when I was your treasurer and Senior Advisor. Hope you guys enjoyed what I did to pull all of us through till now. We lost some guys along the way but well it was fun while it lasted.....

To those year 1s that did not enjoy what I've done. TOO BAD HAHA ask ur new captain to out do me.

As we all know the commotion going about, I can safely say it's a simple misunderstanding.

To those that know, keep it to yourself.

To those that don't know, go study & play ur pool better.

To those involved, please sort it out amongst yourself, the damage is already done, don't drag other people in. If you cant find peace with each other, then go find nemo =D. But everybody is definitely at wrong.

To those that are waiting anxiously till 12.30am for my post, I got an announcement to tell you all.

Joel Moo & Lee Yan Hui Will Step down as your Senior Advisor. Thank you for all you've done. We appreciate it.

Likewise Quek Yan Hui & Gabriel Ang Will also step down from being your Captain & Vice-Captain. We love you guys. But it's time to pass it on right? =)

So Your new Captain, Vice Captain & Treasurer will be as follows.

Azkhairy - Captain. You are supposed to keep in touch with the management on everything. From rules to discipline issues. From CCA Open house - Friendly Line Up. Proposal of getting sponsorship - Updating Player Profiles. Chalets - Outings. In Short the SAI KANG WARRIOR!!!

Jun Yang - Vice Captain. You are supposed to help Azkhairy, But mainly is getting friendlies organised. On a Bi-Monthly basis. If Azkhairy needs your help, you cant say no. =D You are not his Dog, You are his best friend to help him when he does'nt even ask for it.

Alvin - Treasurer. NCC Boy, Simple job. Collect money for chalet finish. Monthly Coaching / anything else. If any of ur 2 bosses ask u collect money for XXX Reason just collect. You are the Ah Long of SPGG. My old Job =X.

So after the whole thing, there's still one guy missing, Sam. Well Sam will be your Senior Advisor. But Sam wont do things for you all. Whenever any of you 3 are in doubt, you can ask Sam / Quek / Kiki for help still. But dont throw the problem at him, throw the problem with a few solutions. If not he will definitely make you drunk.

So the way the 3 of you guys will only assume ur roles after ur exams. Learn from Quek / Kiki / Ah Moo / Lee. But by 15th Sept. You guys should be ready. There are already a few problems at hand. Its time you guys decide what's best for yourself. If the pool hall comes back after the renovation. In 1 year time I hope that the team will still be going strong.

Once again, I can't pick on your mistakes/good points individually for obvious reasons. Feel free to approach seniors for help, I'm sure they'll be more than willing to help! Sooo, first of all, WELL DONE TO ALL OF YOU! Even if you lost, don't go and 'emo-one-corner', I'm sure you've contributed to the win, OUR win. It's a team effort after all, right? And needless to say, to those that have visibly improved, winning both games despite losing the previous friendly, keep it up!

But then again, don't get complacent. Staying stagnant is definitely dissatisfactory. I'm sure all of us have made mistakes (Or else we'd be breaking-clear/break-clearing). Remember those mistakes, and work on it when there's tables available; be it your stroke, reverse-angle cuts, on-the-rail shots, kicking out of a snook, you name it! Knowing your mistakes is great, dwelling on them isn't. Aaand that brings me to my next point.

If you feel like you've been a burden, that you didn't contribute to the team, get that idea outta' your head! It's okay to be sad at first, but learn to pick yourself up, keep your head up and have the can-do attitude when you train in the future. Never have the I-suck-no-use-trying attitude! Don't beat yourself up, you'll only find yourself deproving due to lack of confidence, in yourself; where the only thing hindering you from improving, is that person in the mirror.

Spend a minute or two reflecting upon your own performance for the friendly, whether they were satisfactory, just okayyy, or otherwise. Know what you can improve on, work on it and I'm sure you'll perform better next month!

Next, these are some general mistakes I would like to add on, and of course this includes some of my own.

We're still increasing our pace here and there, especially when we're getting complacent, or simply due our own habits when we casually play. It's about time for us to break the habit, slow down and I'm sure your gameplay would be better.

Other mistakes include going up/standing up too fast after shooting, causing inaccuracy, miscues, or even punches. From what I've learnt by others, it's good to exaggerate when you're training. An example would be staying still after taking shot, until the cue ball comes to a stop or a considerable distance. Ask those around you to notice your body movements, or simply use your imagination, to create your own way to correct this habit.

I bet many mistakes in your placing came from over-running/under-running. Regarding the issue, I suppose what can help would be to 'test' the speed of the table when you're warming up. Another suggestion of mine would be learning and taking 'Zoning' into consideration when you plan your shots. If you are not too sure what 'Zoning' is, approach your seniors and ask! I'm sure they'll explain it to you.

These are just some of our general mistakes we've commited today, if you really want to go in-depth and fix your personal mistakes, feel free and ask those Seniors who were there for you today, who watched your game, or even your Peer Tutors.

In conclusion, we've definitely improved as a team, winning instead of losing this time round. However, I'm sure we all know that the win was rather marginal, by rack difference. Let's work harder, improve exponentially and who knows what the next friendly would bring! Hmm, Break-Clears? I don't know about you, but I'm yearning to get one for a tournament! Oh well, no harm of dreaming big right? Hahahah, sooo... Set your goals, and find the route to work towards acheiving it. Remember, don't just play and play and play. Spend time coming early to train, coming down when there's tables available for yourself. And for the next friendly, let's continue fighting, together as a team!

Congratulations to those who have played on Monday and Thursday as well. Without each of you, we wouldn't be able to get back our 'cupboard's missing decoration'.

Hey guys ok, i really had enough. After like 4 days, i really decided to put this up on the blog already. Last saturday, me and mok reach spgg at 8am we were fucking surprise to see fucking alot of rubbish and nonsense stuff on the pool table. I mean it really comes as a shock to me because i am fucking disapointed in all of you.

I REALLY PRESUME THAT THIS IS DONE AFTER TRAINING ON FRIDAY, and is not by one person only. Is by a group of asses with one ring leader.

Firstly, if you guys litter all around don't bother to pack ur rubbish after eating or drinking. Shows two things about you, one you are a fucking spoilt brad who has a pinoy maid to clean up after you everytime, without even you being grateful at all. Number 2, which makes me even more upset, you guys don't even show respect to the place you frequent to train or play pool at.

Then what put what lan jiao unbrella and daddy card, nnb you want to attract attention so much siboh? You all think is funfair arh? you want to know what is funfair you all come find me, LIMBEH REALLY GIVE YOU ALL FUNFAIR.

Then for all the gamblers and guard players, please after you do your guard liao please please throw away the papers arh. Cause i'm not pin pointing anyone, but you guys are setting a bad example for the year 1s to follow, if you just throw your stuff all around, then they might think is ok to do so also.

I tell you all here, i am not going to go investigate who are the ones who did it, cause you retards won't own up at all. What i hope from now onwards, please please do not do this stupid stuff again. At least show some respect for the place you train and play at.

For now, i know alot alot of people starting to tapao food from outside bring into the poolhall to eat. The trend is starting again. I don't care larh, you bring in, you kana caught, your own taiji already. Please don't expect any of the comittee members to come and save your sorry ass. If you want to bring food in, please eat outside of the pool hall. Outside means the smoking corner arh. Cause i see that a lot of people eat already still throw inside.

Shane & alvin, As usual still on a losing streak =D. Do not expect tremendous results when you guys dont train smart i use the word smart cuz training hard is not as effective as smart =D. half the time just playing, dont expect to go far if you continue like this.

Hello everyone! This is your awesome Senior Advisor Lee Yan Hui.

Firstly, as most you all know that a few members of our committee had went to have a talk with Ann, with regards to our pool team and so there are some things that we would want all of you all to abide to it. The few things are as followed;

1. For those who wanna play in the pool hall on normal days, PLEASE make your payment at the counter before the 5th of every month. What they see from their CCTV is that there are over 30 pool team members using the tables, whereas the list only appeared to have 20 names.

The management have the rights to ban anyone from the pool team when spotted playing & not paid.

2. We need MORE people to pay for the monthly table fees so that Ann can have sufficient evidences that table allocated to us is not enough for our pool teams members to train and thus request for addition tables for us during normal days.

3. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. From now on please remember to tick your name at the counter before you enter the pool hall. If not they will think that 2 tables is enough for us as although we all pay for the tables but not all of us are using the tables during normal days.

4. For SPGG students members, if you are joining any competition, please inform your captain or vice- captain. For non- SPGG members, If you are financially able, i would recommend you to join the student membership so that we might able to get subsidies from SPGG if you are joining any major competition.

Secondly, Before training starts, PLEASE REMEMBER TO WASH THE BALLS AND CLEAN THE TABLES! I do not wish the seniors to keep reminding you all, so be more automatic. Don't know how to clean table, don't know wash the balls? Please consult your seniors.

Lastly, regarding the peer tutoring system, peer tutors and their students will have the priority to the tables to train, excluding table 3 and 4. There can only be 2 tutoring groups on each table. Seniors please allow more time for the new ones to train, don't snatch away their tables or disturb them. Those with no tutor one please put your name at the tag box. We will try to assign you to one tutor.

For Jun wen, you really need to train on your consistency, cause there are quite a few shots that were relatively easy and you miss, this one really have to go practice. Monday; Everyone happy, motivated and most importantly, confident, that we'll defend our title. Six games, that's what we needed. But by the end of the match on Thursday, many left IcePool blaming themselves, claiming how close we were to winning. Losing games which resulted in hill-hill endings, flukes, mistakes, you name it. Year Ones, I know how you feel, 'cause I'm one too. And if seniors are looking at this like, "WhatTheFaaah?!" chill, AhMok asked me to update the blog! Okay, let's not digress, back to the after-thoughts.

First of all, it's a team event after all. No individual is to be blamed for the lost, our lost. If you think that you're lousy, what are you waiting for? TRAIN harder! Don't just keep missing a shot a thousand times, and go, "Walaooo, I damn lousy sia" without even trying to improve. There'll definitely be a senior willing to help, I'm sure all you gotta' do is ask! I quote Daniel, "Look at all of you before the friendly... It's playing not training". I'm guilty of it too, I admit it. But hey, it's about time for a change right? I remember Seniors saying that we shouldn't keep playing 9-ball with ourselves, but train our strokes, spins, drills, and more instead. So let's make training more effective, and TRAIN together, as a team!

I'm in no authority to pick on each individual's mistakes, so regarding the issue, just ask the seniors that watched your matches for help. For now, I'll just write about the general mistakes that we made. Some of the mistakes that I'm typing are my own, that's quite common amongst us during the Friendly.

From what I've learnt from the friendly, take your time at for every shot! Don't rush, breatheee! Do your pre-shot routines and relax! Seniors have adviced us to chill, have fun. IT HELPS. Never give up! Even if you're like losing 3-1, it's possible to fight back. Don't beat yourself down. Like if you miss a shot, don't go whacking your cue on the table (like what I did on the first day). Don't say like, "Waaa, I damn lousy today la". Don't be angry at yourself. Have a CLEAR mind, a positive mind set; Plan your game, own the rack.

And if you've finished or waiting for your game, motivate your team members that's fighting with you! Being there for them is good, motivating them on the other hand, is great! The simplest words can calm their worst nerves down. What have you got to lose anyway? It's a team event; fight together, motivate one another and (hopefullyintwomonthstime) WIN TOGETHER.

Like what Sam said, losing is alright. Know your mistakes, learn from it and never repeat them during future friendlies, future tournaments. Personally, I suggest doing an After-Action-Review, like jot down your mistakes, your good points, what you can improve on. It'll remind you what to train for if you get a table. (It's just my suggestion!) Should you find yourself unable to perform under pressure, join tournaments then! The SPGG National Day 8-Ball Challenge is coming up. I'm sure it'll be a good experience for us. I've signed up already, and to those interested, the forms are available at the front desk.

If you know you're travelling in the wrong direction, don't just whine and continue walking. Turn back, and fix you.

It was a close fight, I wouldn't say we got thrashed. Twelve-Fourteen; That's our score for The Friendly in July. Two months down the road, what do you want to hear? Come on Year Ones, two more months is all we have to the next friendly. We all had our chances during our matches. In September, we'll get another; Let's grab the opportunity! Our cupboard's missing an item, let's claim it back as a team and train harder, togther! Let's go, FIGHTFIGHTFIGHT! :D

Azree, Shaun, Yu Jie & Kwok On good job. You guys played well for the win. To terry, i knew you would win if not you had to suck your own cock.

To Shawn, Douglas, Jun Yang you may have won hill-hill but I'm sure you guys had the chance to close the game out earlier. Think about it.

To azkhairy & hairy. You had your chances. If you dont make use of it then I'm sad to say you will lose the game.

To Lian Kiat & Jun Wen you guys put up a great fight! From 2-0 down fight back to 2-2. It does'nt matter if you lost but at least you put up a fight, showed alot of heart.

TO ALVIN. yes you!! MY BIGGEST DISSAPOINTMENT!!! I'M GONNA DISOWN YOU TODAY!! okk just kidding. But now you see what I meant by if you miss, you are screwed?? Its not that you were not good enuff. But rather your mind was clouded by potting the balls only. You cannot keep potting when you are given tough choices. Weigh your options. Take the best option. Hope you take this as a good learning point. Dont be discouraged. 3-0 only. You still have a long way to go. If you dont give up on yourself I'll still be there to help you....

To everybody, pls, when you get ball in hand after the break its always behind the line for 8-ball. Dont be a " yay i got ball in hand i can put it anywhere i wan".

And most importantly! keep your eyes on the table when your opponent is shooting. Shane already missed a chance to get ball in hand when there was 2 balls on the table for him cuz he was looking away. And that RP guy also dishonest lah cuz me and quek already saw it was an obvious foul..... but well all said and done.

Learn from your mistakes. Does'nt mean that you win today = good. If you break clear and run out and your opponent come up to touch the table less than 5 times i call you good. But there are lots of room for improvement. Do not rest on your laurels cuz you are 8-5 up. Rmb. It could have been 8-5 in the other direction if the hill hill matches were not won.....

Wether you guys get chosen for the 9-ball or not its totally up to your captain & treasurer to decide now.

Hey guys, there will be paint ball organised by ash on the 30th of july. Place is at yishun and if i'm not wrong is at bottletree park. Last time ash told us that she will get subsidy right? But the GM of SPGG don't want to give us, and she has already booked the place. So i really hope all of you can go down and play. The venue and timing and all is at the poster in front of our pool hall, so just go take a look.

Guys i know you all might think alamak, cb damn chor sia don't want to go larh. But if you think about it is actually quite cheap, cause you get like i think 100 plus pellets or even more, that i'm not sure. Okk Firstly MST IS OVER!!! So train hard as ur RP friendly is coming up REALLY SOON. Estimated End July / Early Aug. So train hard ok?? There should be only about 13 - 15 People Singles Playing for the 8 & 9-Ball. Venue would be at Icez Pool & SPGG.

The pressure is on you guys as we have only lost once to RP last year during the 2nd edition. So approach ur Peer tutor for help. I know I've been helping my gin na so they cant blame me if they lose =D

Hope you guys enjoyed the chalet! Especially those year 1s that came. To the rest that nvr come, Sept got one more. This time must come, no excuse of studying for exam.

To those that nvr came, you missed on alot of things such as seeing the undrunkable shawn get drunk & had a sand bath in his underwear. The drunkable don get undrunkable when the more he drink the more high he gets only. Shane & Jackie Died. Not forgetting the 2 guys that usually die at every chalet also.

We finished almost 70 cans of beer and 7 bottles of liqour. Not bad Not bad. Next chalet our new target is 100 Cans and 10 bottles =D

Chalet has been confirmed!!! It's gonna happen next tuesday, 210611, at NSRCC 24N for one night only. All new members are STRONGLY encouraged to attend this event as part of bonding and cohesion amongst all members. If you have any problem, kindly inform your captian. I wont say its a job well done. Basically you guys are like just playing " see who pot the 9-ball game only, 1-8 ball dont bother whoever pot also can just so long as i get to shoot the 9-ball" some even worse, take ball in hand put str8 line still can miss the object ball. what you doing?? worse than ice cream.

To those that lost, just think for yourself, you may have lost the 7 racks but during the 7-racks i'm sure at least 5 racks you managed to get a shot / chance at the 9-ball right? so ask urself, why did'nt you make that shot count?

To those that won, think for yourself, were u playing ping pong with ur opponent or were you actually stringing balls together? I only managed to see shawn's game and he was actually stringing balls tgt like take a ball in hand and run 5-9 or 6-9. except the part where he ice cream and let his opponent catch back until 6-5.

Most of you guys need to respect ur opponent and ur team mates. Just because its a sure win does'nt mean that you can just anyhow play. If you refuse to respect the game and players, nobody will respect you.

Despite the win 72-39 racks and 10-3 match. I think the performance today is just average not fantastic. Can be better. You guys need to train up alot more if you still want to remain unbeaten when it comes to RP's turn in August / Sept.

I wont blame you guys cause you were not taught how to run 8-balls like the rules and the method. But likewise when i ask you all to train ur potting many of you were still missing simple balls. WTF HAVE YOU GUYS BEEN DOING THE PAST FEW WEEKS AT SPGG POOL HALL? The ones I see that have been practicing the potting that I ask them to do actually had an easier time playing right? If you can pot 10/15 balls what the hell is 7 balls?

Ok on the overall we may have won lah. But if you guys just continue at the rate you are, when it comes to RP friendly, you guys may be the one just winning 29 racks and RP winning 73 racks.

2ndly I've updated the list of the peer tutors at the side. I've decided to take in 3 students only. These 3 people please come to spgg on monday. Training will begin =D

Its all about the heart and soul you guys put into the game.With a WEAK HEART, even if you win the game, there will be no respect gained. HOWEVER, with a STRONG HEART, even if you lose badly to the opponent, respect will be gained from your opponent. Its not all about winning, is how much EFFORT, CONCENTRATION and DETERMINATION you put into the game.

For today's game, the person that i feel has the strongest heart is Wan Rong. She has put her heart and soul into today's game. Even though she has lost, she has still earned my respect by giving it her best no matter what the scoreline is. For that she deserves to be praised.

Whats done cannot be undone. Those who performed badly today, just suck it up and carry on with life. Train harder, work harder, put in 100% of yourself for the game, and no doubt in the future friendlies,you would succeed. Whereby there are suppose to be three of them, now left 1, so if you had taken them please either return it, or pay to phillip the 100 bucks. It is a matter of integrity like seriously.

I'm going to implement an idea that was taken from the batch before my batch & that is called peer coach. Meaning a group of year 1s will be assigned to 1 Senior so whenever you got problems you can approach him. Max 4 year 1s to 1 Senior

This is the best month because most of the tables will be available to us due to school holidays. Hey guys, i understand that the news of the PJC friendly is out, and some of you may be disapointed because you did not get to play or something. But seriously this is nothing to be disapointed about, you want to play to not let your team down what right? The only way is to practice hard on ur basics and whatever phillip has taught all of you.

To be honest larh, i join SPGG first time i also never get to play in the first friendly, cause i too ice cream already. Cause i down there thinking, nnb eh, i also want to play to represent this team. Then i train very hard, knn i remember i go around asking people why they play the shot all that sia. A few of them who were my victims are daniel lau, fat ben and ahmok. So it all boils down to determination larh? And like ask the seniors when they not playing that time, don't like ask them when they halfway in a race, when money or drinks are involve.

Like don't let history repeat itself larh. In my batch got 40 people, now left with 8. knn, some of them is cause busy working, some is plain not interested, some is feel that they are being left behind because of the standard difference then like sian larh. I hope all of you are not the last two arh, just because of this time. By the way, we choose players to play for friendlies is cause of merit, how hard you guys train and all that. No matter how good you are or not. We got eyes to see who are the really hardworking ones and who are those who just go through the motions one.

1stly.
PJC Friendly 11th June Saturday. We will have about 20 year 1s playing. Currently the list is very short but we already have a few players in mind. Only About 10??

To those that think u are not in the 10 please work really hard. You do not need to play well to be inside. You just need to work really hard these 2 weeks to prove that deserve the place. We will put up the 10 players during the weekends.

TPC 9-Ball Challenge. I think we should send about 5 teams?? Find your friends and form a team. The year 1s that are interested to join but got no team, Please contact Shawn lim @ 98475524 he's willing to arrange everything for u guys. =D

To everyone in the pool team,

Firstly, when there are people who book the tables come in, you are SUPPOSED to give up the tables you are using. Take initiative and not wait for people who are kind enough to give up their tables. Even if you are playing halfway, stop the game and clear the table. If it is a very important rack, tell the people who come in that and quickly end the game and clear the table.

Secondly, DO NOT LEAVE OUR SET OF BALLS IN THE TABLES! KEEP THE BALLS AFTER EVERY USE! Do you leave your pool cue on the table and go home without keeping your cue? It is the same thing. It is not that i want to purposely say u guys or what, it is just that yesterday there was a mix up of balls with the counter balls. If you leave the balls in the table, people who do not know will obviously take the balls and play what. If they mix up the set with the set they have, we will have a tough time looking for the incorrect balls. It is all about responsibility, what you take out, put it back. It is as simple as that. Do not tell me that : " oh, it is that guy who take out the balls one, not me ". It is EVERYONES responsibility to take care of the equipment we have.

Thirdly, to the year ones, PRACTICE YOUR DRILLS! First is hitting the balls to the rail and make it come back to touch your tip, second is stop ball, it is dam important. There are more things that Philip wants you guys to practice right? Practice it to improve your game. Dun just come in the pool hall and start playing with your friends, you can never improve if you do not do your drills. Listening to Philip can never go wrong, if you do not believe me, complete your drills and you will see the difference between your old game and your new and improved game.

Lastly, do not mind f***k yourselves when you are playing pool. If you miss the shot, think where have you gone wrong and try to improve, you can't possibly turn back time and retake the shot right? what is done has been done, think about the FUTURE and not the PAST. Thinking negatively will screw up your game big time, this comes from experience. In the past, if i miss a shot, i would think negatively and beat myself up, this in turn will make my game WORSE. The present me, sometimes i would still be like this but most of the time i would be thinking, " Its alright, whats done cannot be undone, i just have to try harder and work harder ". This is just my personal opinion to you guys, i know that you guys may have other opinions about this. I am not in control of what you guys think, but keep this in mind, THE FUTURE IS ALL WITHIN YOUR OWN HANDS, YOU CAN CHOOSE TO SCREW IT UP OR CHOOSE TO MAKE IT WORK OUT WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE.

Pool is a game of HARD WORK, DETERMINATION, CONCENTRATION, PRESERVERANCE and a little bit of luck { for Ah Lee's case :) }. If you have all these aspects and follow what Philip has taught you, no doubt you will be a great player in the future.

Since the tagboard got so many people giving advices, here's to what i want to say.

If you all really want to improve, don't always just on your own do your own things at the table, or just come in to play with your friend. Like this you won't be learning anything.

Go and approach your seniors, don't expect your seniors to take initiative and go up to you and give you advice. To put it bluntly, it is not our responsibility to teach you. We are more than willingly to help you, but please open your mouth and ask for help. Playing a rack of 9 ball on your own will do you no good at this point in time.

If you all have anything that don't understand or got any questions, can always approach ah quek. Got personal problem also can approach ah quek. Got people wanna beat you also can approach ah quek.

All in all, i hope to see everyone putting in effort.

1 line to everybody. So to the year 1s who are not playing well. Do not blame the balls, tables, friends for distracting you if you don't play well. Just blame yourself for not putting in the hard work when there is so many other tables to practice on. Not enuff tables? Wait until 6+ when the crowd goes home then u can have 1 table for your self to train on.

And when I mean hard work, it does not mean pot 10 balls for 1-2hr finish. Hard work means that you will never fail to pot 10 balls every time u do it.

So don't blame your seniors for not guiding you when you yourself refuse to put in the hard work.

Hey guys this is ahquek here again. As you all know about our blog the tagboard, some unknown guy came to comment on zhicheng's post and it sparked up a huge earthquake, asif elephants walking past like that. Like i said to you guys before, in the future try not to comment about any moberly stuff as it is a sensitive issue to some people.

Is like knn people say spgg u also buay song mah. But anyways beside the point, i've spoken to boon hock already and he have give me his word that he will try his best to find out who is that mother fucker who is trying to pull us apart again, wanting history to repeat himself. So me and boonhock have came to a conclusion that we should just ignore the guy, until we found out who he is.

Like i told ming on the tagboard just ignore him now, he is just someone who craves for attention. To put it bluntly, he does so cause he does not have any attention elsewhere from people. He just plainly wants to jio taiji to sow discord. So just ignore him ok? Why stoop down to his low life level? Is like come on during this few minutes you argue with him, why not do something more constructive? I really appreciate all of you for speaking up for one another, it really shows that we are really a team, anyone want to come find trouble we stay together as one, which is good.

To the year 1s,

Your 1st friendly will be on 4th June Saturday 10am - 6pm against Pioneer Junior College. It would be a 15 v 15 Match. 50% punch. So selected people needs to come out with $2-4 before the event day.

If you are selected to play. Do not tell the captain you do not want to play cause you dont feel like playing / not good enuff to play.

2ndly. To those that only paid $2 for the SMU Friendly, Please pay AhQuek 1 drink when you see him cause he took out $16 from his own wallet to top up the amount. To those that haven pay him please do it soon.

3rdly. There will be no more friendlies for the senior years organised by me. If you all wan friendlies you all go find people & schools to do it. I quit.

To the new year 1s & Current Team Memebrs,

Here are some House rules when you are playing at SPGG pool hall.

1. Please Sign in at the counter for the day when you come in to play.

2. If you bring food in, Please clear them as soon as you are finished.

3. If you happen to be the last person using the table, Please be considerate and keep the balls & cover the tables. Do not let the last few people leaving the place do it.

4. You are allowed to keep your equipment in the cupboard. Any loss of equipment would be at your own risk. SPGG / Pool Team will not be held responsible for ur loss.

5. Smoking in the SPGG Premises for Students & Student Members is prohibited. If you wish to do so, Do it at your own risk.

6. The tables fees payment are to be made before the 7th Of Every month, Unless there is an extension request.

Now onto some Basic Introduction to the team for the new year 1s.....

Training.

Training will start on Tuesday, To those that have experience playing this game and have some knowledge, pls do not say that training is boring because the training is from the basics. Means that the coach, Philip will teach people how to hold a cue, how to stand properly & everything the few 1st few trainings. If you still find it boring, you can find gabriel / Ah Lee to entertain you.

But if you are not able to do the things that philip teaches then I suggest you start putting in some hard work until you are very confident in that aspect. Training & playing well is your responsibility, NOT ANYBODY ELSE.. If you are unable to understand the things that philip teaches then you can ask him privately / ur seniors if they also understand it.

If you are unable to understand it then do not say things such as " He dunno how to teach / he lousy coach" as the things he teach are so basic & simple that even dumb people can understand. There's no idiots he cant teach. If you are willing to help yourself, he's willing to help you.

Attitude / Conduct

If you happen to have any troubles / conflict with any members, please approach Lee Yan Hui / Quek Yan Hui about it. They are always there to listen to ur problems be it with ur members / with ur girl frend. They will help u resolve conflicts to the minimum with ur batches. This pool team has always been one big happy family. The conflicts are very minimum / Zero and there are no cliques at all.

Likewise we really encourage you guys to be humble, Funny , Jokers, Mindful of your words, temper & not going around to hustle some noobs because they have a problem with you. We have occasions where some new year 1s go to places & cause a big problem for us.

Events

We usually go for drinks on friday, have fun, enjoy & chill. Just that recently we all poor until haven gone out for a long time. But we will have one in this month for the new year 1s =D.

We have chalets where you enjoy, gamble, drink, BBQ, Swim & have fun together. The only thing we dont do is physical activities such as night cycling / playing sports except pool. So we are just basically enjoying ourselves for 3 days and 2 nights at the same place. To those that don't drink, Don't worry, Sam will train you to become a champion drinker by the time you leave the school. To those that don't ever get drunk, you guys better watch out at the chalet =D.

Friendlies.

We have alot of friendlies, but not the whole team will be able to participate depending on the size & restriction of the friendly. But most likely its always about 20 people / friendly & it does not always go to the seniors. In this team, we use the replacement method whereby if you are playing well / deserves the place you will get to play.

The coming friendlies are with NTU & RP year 1s. For the NTU friendly, most of the seniors will be playing. venue & dates are not confirmed but I'm trying for the 28th of May @ SPGG. Will have to ask philip again.

For the RP Year 1s, It should be somewhere in july / Aug & all the year 1s will be able to participate in this.

A little bit of history about our friendlies. In the past 3 years, We have only lost twice. One to Serangoon Gardens Country club on tie breaker after a 13-13 Match & Another Rp Year 1s friendly 2nd edition. So the pressure is on you guys not to lose =D.

To the year ones:

Please pass $60 to Sam on monday for your coaching fees. Its for 2 months (may and june) and training starts on tuesday 10/5/2011. Preferably find Sam between 12-1pm. Otherwise please make your own arrangements with him and make sure you pay him the money for your coaching fees. Also, please tell him which day you would be attending, TUESDAY OR FRIDAY. Just a reminder training is from 6-10pm.

To everyone else, please dont go to the pool hall during training days unless you are there to train or help.

To the new batch, those that haven't pay table fees please go ahead and pay by tomorrow as well. For those that are planning to sign up as member please do so by tomorrow as well. And those that sign up membership please remember to inform the counter that you're from the pool team otherwise you wont get your $50 voucher. So if you never tell the counter and never get your $50 voucher, don't complain. Also please prepare about $60 for coaching fees as we would be collecting it by next week. Training is expected to start next week.

Train hard. Play hard. Study Hard. Friendlies are coming up soon. High chance the 1st one will be in june with NTU.

I can tell that gabriel is ready to rape people while quek is going mind fuck himself.
Sam is only bothered about drinking while ah lee is just going to fluke his way through this.

Likewise do not forget to guide the year 1s on the morally "correct" path. Help them improve & become damn zai. There are some talented & passionate people in the team. Don't outcast them just because of some retarded reason.

Hey guys, the Halloween event on the 28th of October will be $22 per person. For SPGG Members, I'm not sure about the subsidy though; I'll update you once I get the news. Anyone interested?

By the way, I just want to let you know that only six people attended training on Tuesday. What's the dilly-oh people? Yes, I acknowledge that it's an improvement but we need more than that in order for training to continue.

I want to hear from you, 'cause all of you make the team. Is it because you've got other commitments in work? Maybe because you're travelling? Or perhaps its because you aren't allowed to be out of the house? If these are the reasons, I understand fully, and I've got something to propose.

Would you guys want to put training on hold, and continue once school starts again? How about having training on a specific date, a specific timing? Leave your inputs on my post on Facebook alright.
